The fastest crafting and repainting method
Unlock Artisan painting and crafting, then make items that are inexpensive both to craft and repaint. You earn XP when you craft an item and more XP each time you repaint it from one colour to another. The Babyblue Floral Frame (Back) is the best-known option: it costs 3 hammers to craft and 7 hammers per repaint.
Best items if you only want to craft
The Samoyed Crystal Ball costs 8 hammers and Branch Decor costs 10 hammers. Both are efficient choices when you want crafting XP without repeatedly changing colours.
What to do with the finished items
Babyblue Floral Frame (Back) sells for 3 gold, the same number as its crafting cost in hammers, so this is an XP strategy rather than a gold-making strategy. Repainted variants are also useful as distinct gifts for NPCs.
